About Agony Forge

Agony Forge is a web-based, modern MUD under development by Scion Altera. It is open source and free to play.

The game world will center around the coastal Duchy of Marina, a bustling seaport situated between the city-state of Terraverde and the archipelago nation of Acquaria. In the capital city of Folkestone the red-robed Marenni priests bless sailors as they set out to sea. Their bonfires light the way for ships returning to port. Just outside the Journeyman's Gate, a great statue of The Smith overlooks the Journeyman's Road. What mysteries will you discover? What ancient technologies are buried beneath the waves?

About Scion Altera

Scion is a professional software engineer of more than 25 years living in the Pacific Northwest. He has never worked in the game industry, but has worked in cable, medicine, heavy manufacturing, apparel, retail, freelance web design, and others. He has been working on MUDs on and off for most of that time. Some of the MUDs he worked on that actually had players include AntaresMUD, Rogue Winds, and ResortMUD. His favorite programming language is Java, although he knows quite a few others. He is a dad and a husband. He enjoys heavy metal, the outdoors, occasional social media and of course video games. He's generally pretty quiet, but friendly and happy to make new friends.
